Travelling isn't just about where you're going...

Updated: Sep 17, 2020

It's about who you're going to be with.

(Names have been changed...to what they have selected...)

When I announced my 8 day trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma, everyone at home thought I was silly.

"Why would you go there?" "Is there anything there?" "That's in the middle of no where" "Oklahoma?...really????...."

My friend, Dragon, invited me to visit her, so I spontaneously just said "SURE!" and bought the tickets!

Side note: The coolest thing about our friendship is that we met online, then met in person in Bali, then have just continued to talk since then! We both want a location independent lifestyle online to have the freedom to do whatever we want with our days! Having a friend with the same mindset as you is a gift. If you are lucky enough to have that, you should cherish it!

I already knew that it was going to be a great trip because we would motivate each other towards our futures! But, when I arrived it got even better! She lives with her boyfriend Wes, and their friends Seth and Nighthawk.

I did explore some parts of the city, went camping, and went floating; but I spent most of my time in their apartment hanging out with them. Because they have normal lives, it was kind of like they had shifts spending time with me. lol

I got to spend one-on-one time with each of them at least once throughout the week. It was happily surprised to discover how into deep conversations they are (the more I travel the more REAL conversations I have).

By the end of the week I had discussed with each of them love, the afterlife, feelings, free will, why we're here, dreams, goals, and why we do what we do. The conversations weren't forced either, they just naturally happened.

Those are the conversations that get you realizing how much you appreciate the life you have, and how much you believe in yourself and your future.

Also, finding people you can really connect and get deep with is not very common anymore.

Everyone is so wrapped up in their phones, laptops, work, and school to talk to anyone. I feel like were almost afraid to talk to people now, because we don't have that screen to filter our feelings. (Now, I'm not bashing on social media - I mean, it's my business. And I love it! I met these amazing people because of social media!) But, we need to know when to be online and when to be in the moment.

I believe that everyone has many soulmates - basically, friends of your soul that you will find in every life you live or world you find yourself in. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and every person you meet will teach you something. These 4 people widened my mind's horizon, and I hope I widened theirs.

Going to Tulsa, Oklahoma was the best trip I've ever been on! Not because of the location, although it was cool. But, because of the people I got to spend my trip with!

If you plan on travelling with people, make sure they are people that will keep you thinking, and get you excited to be 'stuck' with them for however long.

If you plan on travelling solo, meet as many people as possible! Not everyone you meet you'll connect with, but the one you do connect with will change your life.

My friends are also growing their own online business, so I'll take a chance to promote them now! Keep reading :)
